Purpose of This Policy
This policy statement outlines the goals and investment objectives for the Curtis Memorial Library Endowment. This document is intended to provide guidelines for managing the Endowment and to outline specific investment policies that will govern how those goals are to
be achieved.
This statement:
- Describes an appropriate risk posture for the investment of the Endowment’s assets
- Establishes investment guidelines regarding the selection of investment managers, permissible securities and diversification of assets
- Specifies the criteria for evaluating the performance of the investment managers and of the Endowment as a whole
- Defines the responsibilities of the Trustees, Executive Board, and other parties responsible for the management of the Endowment.
The Brunswick Public Library Association dba Curtis Memorial Library is organized as a private not-for-profit corporation under IRS Section 501 (c)(3). As a result, the income and earnings of the Endowment are exempt from State and Federal taxes.
