INTERLIBRARY LOAN

Curtis Memorial Library is a member of Minerva, a consortium of over 60 libraries throughout the state of Maine who have agreed to allow borrowing between member libraries. You can request books, movies, audiobooks, music and other items from any Minerva library.

NOTE: You can do this from your home computer, by visiting https://minerva.maine.edu/

If Curtis does not have an item you are looking for, you can see if it is available for you to request at another Minerva library. To do this, click in the drop-down menu toward the upper right of the page, select All Minerva Libraries, and try your search again.

After you locate an item you’d like to borrow, click on the Request button toward the upper left of the page. Items that are available at the time of request usually arrive within one week. You will be notified by email or phone when they are ready for pick-up. Items will be held for one week and may be picked up at the Lending Services desk.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN FROM OTHER MAINE LIBRARIES

You can also borrow items from Maine libraries outside of the Minerva consortium directly through the catalog. If the item you are looking for is not at any Minerva library, click on the Search MaineCat button and click on the REQUEST THIS ITEM link.

IF YOU STILL CANNOT FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR:

If you are still unable to locate the item you want, we may be able to borrow it for you from a library outside of Maine. We are able to provide our patrons with many books, audio and visual materials, journal and magazine articles, and copies of newspaper articles from libraries farther away. If you need help with this, or are having difficulty placing a request, please contact the Help Desk for help at 725-5242, option 4, or email at helpdesk@curtislibrary.com
