Starting March 17, 2026, Minerva Libraries will introduce a new 4-digit PIN to keep your account secure and support future system improvements.
Minerva connects more than 60 libraries across the state — including Curtis Memorial Library. Because we share the same catalog, this change will affect all patrons, helping ensure a safer, smoother, and more modern library experience for everyone.
What’s Changing?
When logging in to your online library account to place holds, renew items, and manage your account, you will soon use:
- Your library card barcode number
- AND a 4-digit PIN of your choice
This added step helps keep your information secure.
Please Confirm Your Email Address Before March 17
Because the new PIN system uses email for secure setup, we encourage everyone to confirm that we have a current email address on file.
- Already receiving Minerva emails? You’re all set.
- Not sure? Log in to your account at curtislibrary.com and update your email before March 17.
Confirming now makes setting up your PIN quick and easy!
How to Set Up Your PIN
Set Up Online (Beginning March 17)
- Visit the My Library Account login page.
- Click the new Set/Reset PIN
- Enter your full library barcode number (no spaces).
Important: After you enter your barcode number, an email will be sent to the email address currently on file for your library account. That email will include a secure, temporary link that allows you to create or reset your 4-digit PIN.
If you do not receive the email:
- Double-check that you entered your barcode number correctly.
- Look in your spam or junk folder.
- Contact the library to make sure we have an up-to-date email on file for you.
Set Up your PIN at the Library
- Don’t have an email address on file? We’re happy to help!
- Ask a library staff member to add a 4-digit PIN to your account. For your security, we’ll verify your identity before setting or resetting a PIN.
Please note: For security reasons, staff cannot see your PIN after it’s set. If you forget it, we can help you create a new one.
