Who doesn’t love a fun Fall BINGO Reading Challenge?

Start:

We will begin our Adult Fall Bingo on Tuesday, Sept 22nd. Starting September 22nd, participants can pick up a Fall BINGO sheet at the First Floor Welcome Desk or the Second Floor Help Desk.

Finish:

Turn in your completed BINGO sheet by November 20th for a chance to win a one of two small Curtis Memorial Tote bags with a bag of Wicked Joe coffee in each tote! We will also be giving out two $25 gift certificates to a local business.  This is a total of 4 winners in this Fall BINGO Challenge.

A completed BINGO sheet is a line of completed challenges.  This line can be across, down or diagonally.

We have included a row in our Fall BINGO that corresponds with a exciting collaboration with Maine Historical Society, Revolutionary Maine, Bowdoin College and Curtis Memorial Library.

Organized by Maine Historical Society, the Declaration of Independence will be on display in the Rotunda at the Bowdoin Museum from October 30 to October 31. Free, timed-tickets are required and can be reserved through Maine Historical Society’s tour website here.

This final tour stop represents the culmination of one Maine’s most treasured historical artifacts visiting each of the state’s 16 counties, including ours, between July and October 2026, offering residents a unique opportunity to see and reflect on one of the nation’s founding documents during the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The document is one of just 26 surviving copies of the historic Dunlap Broadside, printed in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, to announce American independence to the colonies. Maine Historical Society is privileged to steward this rare artifact and share it with us.

While at the Museum, be sure to visit USA @ 250, a major exhibition organized on the occasion of the United States’ 250th anniversary that explores the nation’s history through a series of exceptional artworks created since 1776. A special tour for Curtis Library patrons will be held on Wed. 10/14 at Noon.
