Public Computers
- We currently have 10 computers for adults on the 2nd floor, with no time limit. If the computers are full and people are waiting, we reserve the right to ask people to limit their time, so that others may get a turn.
- We have 3 computers in the Kids Computer and Activity Room – sessions are limited to 1 hour.
- We also have 2 computers for teens located in the Teen Zone – sessions are limited to 1 hour.
You do not need a library card to use a public computer. To use a computer, stop at the 2nd floor Help Desk (adults) or Youth Services desk (teens) to get a pin code. Login on the AVAILABLE screen using the pin code, and the login on the Windows login screen, using the password “public”. When you are finished, click the red X next to the timer at the top of the screen, to log out. The Library uses Deep Freeze software, which reboots the machine after logout and removes any data or history from the last session. Patron privacy is important to us!
Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi)
The Library offers some of the fastest Internet available. Through the Maine School and Library Network (MSLN), we have a 1Gbps fiber connection and wireless access points throughout the building. This is available 24 hours/day.
To connect, find the Curtis Memorial Library Wi-Fi signal through your device- there is no password, but there is a policy page that must be agreed to before you are connected.
