Most of our caterpillars shed their final skin as caterpillars (larva) and have entered their chrysalis (pupa) stage. In 10-14 days, they will emerge as adult Monarch butterflies (fingers crossed!). The outside of the chrysalis is the skin of the pupa. If you look closely, you can see the shape of the wings and abdomen inside.
Please join us on Wednesday, August 3 at 10:30 or 1:00 to learn more about these and other Butterfly Heroes with the Butterfly Guy, Jerry Schneider. He’ll also lead us in creating a butterfly t-shirt* using a combination of Rit fabric dye sprays, plants, and butterfly cut-outs.
For ages 5-11. Register for the 10:30 or 1:00 presentation to attend.
*Bring a cotton t-shirt; details when you register.
